How it works

Four steps, and you only do the first one.

  1. Put a price on it

Create the seminar like any other event, then set a ticket price. That is the whole difference between a free open mat and a paid seat.

  2. It sells on your event page

Buyers pay on the page people already find you on. Nothing to embed, no separate checkout to run, no link to hand out.

  3. Scan at the door

On the night, your phone is the scanner. It tells you who is good to walk in and who is not, and it knows who has not shown up yet.

  4. The money lands in your bank

Automatically after the event, on the timeline below. You do not invoice us and you do not chase anyone.

The door

The door is your phone

No card reader, no printed list, no laptop on a folding table. On the night you open your own event, point the camera at the buyer's ticket, and read the answer. Three taps, and the third one is not yours.

1Your event

Happening nowYou manage this eventNo-Gi Guard Retention MasterclassSat, Sep 12 · 6:00 PM · Carbon BJJ Door mode

One button on the event you already opened. It only shows up for the people who manage the gym.

2The scanner

Camera full screen, the count at the top, and the roster and the code pad under your thumb.

3The answer

AdmittedDana OkaforK7MN-P2QRTap to scan the next ticket

Full screen, readable at arm's length in a dim doorway. Color and shape say the same thing.

  • AdmittedThe ticket is good and this is its first scan. Wave them in.
  • Already inThis ticket was scanned earlier. You get the time it happened and who scanned it, and you decide.
  • Do not admitWrong event, wrong night, refunded, or not one of your tickets at all. Anything the system cannot vouch for lands here.
  • A live roster, one button awayEveryone who bought, who is already in, and who is still outside, with a count of each. It updates as you scan.
  • Dead phone in the line? Type the codeEvery ticket carries an eight-character code. Type it in and it is the same check-in, with the same result.
  • One ticket, one entryA second scan of the same ticket does not quietly open the door again.

The money

How the money works

One payment, start to finish.

  1. Someone buys a ticketTheir payment is collected securely.
  2. Your event finishesYour payout is scheduled for 2 days after it ends, in case of refunds.
  3. You get paidSent to your bank automatically. Most banks show it within 2 business days.

An example, not a quote

20 tickets at $75$1,500
Open Mat Locator keeps 10%-$150
You receive$1,350

Card processing is already inside the 10%. There is no separate fee line on your payout, and none on the buyer's receipt either.

Setup

Setting up payouts

Set up payouts once and you can sell tickets to your seminars. Takes about 5 minutes, and you will need your bank details.

  • Stripe runs it, not usYou are handed to Stripe's own hosted form and handed back when it is finished. Your bank credentials never touch our screens.
  • Identity and tax details go to StripeThey collect what the law requires in order to pay you. We are only told whether you are cleared.
  • Three things to fill inBusiness info, identity, bank account. The payouts screen tells you which ones are still outstanding, in plain English.

What the buyer sees

They buy on your event page, the same page they found the seminar on. The ticket and its code live in their app, so there is nothing to print, nothing to email around, and nothing for you to keep a list of.

What this does not do yet

  • Seminars for now, not open matsOpen mats stay free to list and free to attend. Ticket prices are for seminars, the sessions you actually charge for.
  • US bank accountsPayouts go to a US account. We are not set up to pay anywhere else yet.
  • Refunds follow the terms of serviceThe refund window and what happens if you cancel are in the terms, and they apply to every ticket sold here.

Ready for your next seminar?

Setting up payouts does not commit you to anything. Ticket sales are a switch in your gym settings, and turning it off pauses sales without touching your payout details.
