Terms of Service

Open Mat Locator allows users to discover, create, and participate in events such as open mats, tournaments, and training sessions.

You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm others or the platform.

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• All activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

You may create or submit content such as:

• Events
• Venue information
• Descriptions and details

By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the platform.

You are responsible for ensuring your content:

• Is accurate
• Does not violate any laws
• Does not infringe on the rights of others

Open Mat Locator does not guarantee the accuracy of event or venue information.

Users are responsible for verifying:

• Event times
• Locations
• Participation details

We are not responsible for cancellations, changes, or inaccuracies.

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for illegal activities
• Post false, misleading, or harmful content
• Attempt to disrupt or hack the platform
• Impersonate others

We may remove content or restrict access at our discretion.

Our platform may use or integrate with third-party services such as:

• Google, Apple, or Facebook for login
• Mapping and location services
• Email providers

We are not responsible for third-party services or their policies.

This section applies to tickets purchased on the platform for seminars and other paid events. It applies to ticket purchases only.

Ticket purchases are processed and sold by Open Mat Locator LLC as merchant of record. Charges appear on your card statement as OPENMATLOCATOR.

The price shown is the total price. There are no added service fees at checkout.

This refund policy applies to event tickets only.

You may cancel for a full refund until 72 hours before the event's scheduled start time. Within 72 hours of the scheduled start, tickets are non-refundable.

If the organizer cancels the event, every ticket is automatically refunded in full.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method and typically appear within 5 to 10 business days.

Open Mat Locator is a ticketing platform. Each event is organized, operated, and instructed solely by the listed organizer, typically the host gym. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the event, the venue, the instruction, or participant safety.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and related training involve inherent risk of serious injury. By purchasing a ticket you acknowledge these risks and that the organizer, not Open Mat Locator, is responsible for the event and for participant safety.

You will be asked to confirm this acknowledgment at checkout, and your acceptance is recorded with your order.

If you have a problem with a purchase, contact us first using the contact details at the end of these Terms and we will work to resolve it.

Initiating a chargeback on a charge that complied with the stated refund policy may result in suspension of your account.

Ticket buyers must be 18 or older and have an account. If you purchase on behalf of another attendee, you represent that you have authority to do so and that any minor attendee will have guardian consent as required by the organizer.

A ticket grants admission only. Participation is subject to the organizer's requirements, including waivers and, for minors, guardian consent. Open Mat Locator does not collect, store, or verify waivers.

This section applies to gyms and organizers that enable paid ticketing on the platform.

We provide ticketing, payment processing, and payout services for your events. Payment processing is provided by Stripe and is subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service. By enabling payouts you agree to be bound by the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, and you authorize us to share your information with Stripe and to create and manage a payment account on your behalf.

Open Mat Locator retains a platform fee of 10% of the gross ticket price, inclusive of card processing costs. You receive 90% of gross ticket sales, transferred to your payment account within 48 hours after the scheduled end of the event.

You authorize Open Mat Locator to issue refunds to buyers in accordance with the published refund policy, including full refunds of all tickets if you cancel an event. Refunded amounts are deducted from amounts otherwise payable to you.

You are solely responsible for income taxes on amounts you receive and for determining and remitting any sales, admissions, or amusement taxes applicable to your events, except where Open Mat Locator is required by law to collect and remit tax as a marketplace facilitator, in which case we will do so and notify you.

You are solely responsible for obtaining waivers and guardian consents, and for meeting all participant-safety and supervision requirements that apply to your events.

You agree to indemnify and defend Open Mat Locator LLC, its officers, and its employees against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your events, your instruction, your premises, or participant injuries.

You represent that you maintain commercial general liability insurance covering martial arts instruction at your events.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms.

You may stop using the platform at any time.

The platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

We do not guarantee:

• Continuous availability
• Accuracy of information
• Fitness for a particular purpose

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Open Mat Locator is not liable for:

• Any indirect or incidental damages
• Losses related to events, participation, or use of the platform

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the platform that cannot be resolved informally must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Open Mat Locator LLC regarding the platform.
